Gaspare Scalise, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished Grandfather , passed away peacefully at his home in Palm Coast, Florida, on October 22, 2025. He was 87.
Born on July 1, 1938 in Calabria, Italy, Gaspare was the son of the late Luigi and Rosina Scalise. With a spirit of enterprise, he immigrated to the United States in 1963, first settling in Mount Vernon, New York. It was there that he met the love of his life, Alba Perri, whom he married on January 4, 1964. Together, they established their life and lovingly raised their two children in Westchester, New York.
A Legacy of Dedication and Joy
A hardworking and dedicated man, Gaspare built a successful career through his own efforts. He first owned and operated J & S Lawn Sprinkler for ten years before transitioning to a two-decade tenure as a facilities supervisor at Kings Electronics. Following his retirement in 2000, he and Alba embraced a life rich with travel and family. They split their time between New York and Florida until 2010, when they settled permanently in Palm Coast.
Gaspare was an active and proud member of the Italian American Social Club of Palm Coast, where his warm spirit and generosity were well-known and appreciated. He possessed an incredible green thumb and found immense joy tending to his garden. His passion for gardening was a gift he shared freely, often distributing the fruits of his labor—especially his homegrown vegetables—with friends and fellow club members. Above all, he cherished traveling the world with his beloved wife, Alba, creating countless beautiful memories on every adventure.
Family
Gaspare's greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Alba Perri Scalise; his children, Pier Scalise and his wife Elsa, and Carla Scalise.
He leaves behind a precious legacy in his cherished grandchildren:
