Born on March 6, 1931, in the Channel Islands, United Kingdom, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Alice Poole. Gloria married the love of her life, Frank Phillip Shipman, on September 6, 1956. Together they shared a remarkable 74-year marriage and raised two sons.
In 1969, Gloria and her family emigrated to the United States, settling in Parsippany, New Jersey. She was a hardworking and vibrant woman, known for her warmth, generosity, and unmistakable English accent, which endeared her to many.
Gloria had a deep love for butterflies and dragonflies, and found joy in knitting and quilting—often donating handmade quilts to charity. She and Frank shared a passion for ballroom dancing, and together they competed on the world stage, particularly excelling in the "quick step."
She is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Shipman; her sons, David Shipman and Michael Shipman (Kimberly); her cherished granddaughter, Angeline Shipman; her sister, Rosemary Poole; and nieces Carolyn, Jeannette, and Karen.
Gloria’s grace, strength, and kind spirit will be remembered always by her family and the many lives she touched.
