Hal was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 20, 1951 to Harold and Ann Irwin. Hal attended Drexel University on a full scholarship for academics and golf. Hal worked as an accountant for Johnson and Johnson for 19 years. It was here, he met his true love, Linda, and they were married for 49 years. He retired from the corporate world to become an entrepreneur. He earned the nickname “The Big Bingo Man” due to his success in the entertainment and gaming industry. This enabled him to donate and help numerous charities throughout the country. He was especially fond of animal rescues. Hal loved his German Shepherds.
Hal was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved all Philadelphia teams and passed this love down to his sons, Greg and Tommy. You would often find the Irwin men watching sports, playing cards and talking business.
Hal is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his eldest son Greg (Lilya)- grandchildren- Erikxon, Tony, Makenzie and Evangeline, great grandchildren- Ella and Madison
Also survived by his youngest son Tommy, wife, CaraLisa and grandchildren- Caraline and Thomas Payne.
Also his mother in law, Loretta Basilone, brother in law, Bill Basilone and sister in law, Kathy Eisen (Jerry) and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his parents and his beloved sister and only sibling, Ellen Sinnott.
A celebration of his life is being planned and will be announced. There will be good music, great food and plenty of sunshine, just how he liked it. Hal will be missed every day. We are all so grateful for his guidance and tenacity.
Hal Irwin was truly one of a kind.
