

Ida May Billups, 80, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on February 1, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born on February 18, 1944, in Montgomery, Alabama, to James and Lucy Adams (Whatley).
Ida graduated from high school before marrying Otis Billups in September of 1961. Together, they had two daughters, Weeda and Cassandra. In 1963, the family relocated to New York. After some years, Ida met Frederick Butler, with whom she had three children: Frederick Jr., Donald, and Angelice.
Ida worked as a nurse's assistant and in childcare, touching many lives through her caring nature. She had a love for shopping, dancing, cooking, and entertaining, with a special fondness for Heineken beer. However, her greatest passion was spending time with her beloved family, always placing them at the forefront of her life.
Ida was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Douglas Butler, as well as her siblings: James Adams, Lorenzo Adams, Gloria Jean Kennedy, and Sharon Lawson.
She leaves behind her children, Weeda Anderson, Cassandra Billups, Donald (Sophia) Butler, and Angelice Brown; grandchildren, Theodore Anderson, Eboney Emery, Donovan Blocker, Tevin Anderson, Asia Brown, Isaiah Brown, and Sydney Brown; Nature Cannon, Amanda Cannon, and Natasha Cannon; great-grandchildren, Maci Reign, Jeremiah Javon, and Mariah Rose Anderson; and a host of extended family members and wonderful friends.
Ida will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will forever be remembered for her warm heart, dedication to her family, and joyful spirit. May she rest in peace.
A memorial gathering for Ida will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home followed by a celebration of life at 5:00 PM.
