Joseph was born on July 31, 1949, in Lodi, New Jersey, to the late Joseph and Catherine Paci Sr. After finishing high school, he met the love of his life, Colleen Rose Peraino, and they were married on October 4, 1970. Together, they raised two children and built a life deeply rooted in family, culture, hard work, faith, and community.
Joseph worked in construction for much of his life, eventually owning and operating several construction companies in the New Jersey area. He proudly served his community as a firefighter with the Lodi Fire Department for 17 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars and building race cars. He was also a talented musician, playing the drums alongside family members.
In 1989, Joseph moved with his family to Palm Coast, Florida, where he founded the family tile business, Tile Plus, with his uncle, Victor Paci Sr. Joseph later retired from tile work but continued to serve as a consultant to his godson, Victor Paci Jr., of Victor’s Tile Plus. He also remained committed to service as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Palm Coast for many years.
In his later years, Joseph found joy in spending time with his family, sharing Bible stories with his daughter Tara Paci and granddaughter, listening to music, and developed a passion for woodworking in his garage, where he could often be found with his grandson tagging along. Joseph always dreamed big especially in recent years when he loved talking about RVing to the mountains and striking it rich gold mining.
Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Colleen Rose Paci, in 2019; his brother, Robert Paci, in 2004; and his uncle, Victor Paci Sr., in 2021.
He is survived by his daughter, Tara Paci; his son, Joseph (Abby) Paci III; his grandchildren, Pixley Isabell and Joseph Paci IV; his godson, Victor Paci Jr.; and his aunt, June E. Paci.
Joseph will be remembered for his incredibly strong work ethic, generosity, deep love for his family and friends, and his lifelong dedication to serving God and others with the love he gave so freely. To many, he will always be remembered as the happiest man around. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Palm Coast Firefighters Benevolent Fund (Local 4807) or the Children's Dream Fund in Tampa.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, located at 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida, 32136, on February 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
