Joseph Timothy Sheehan, age 43, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2024. Born on January 30, 1981, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, he was the cherished son of the late John Joseph Bagley Sheehan and Ellen Riordan.
Joseph graduated from Weymouth Vocational High School in 2000. In December 2008, he met Elisabeth Misdea through mutual friends, and they were married on June 11, 2011. His career began as a lobsterman in Boston, followed by a successful transition to a chef at various local restaurants. In 2010, he founded Blackwater Towing, and in 2019, he and his family relocated to Palm Coast, Florida. There, he worked with Exquisite Pools & Spas and continued to serve his community as a Palm Coast Volunteer Firefighter starting in 2020—a role he held with great pride and dedication.
Joseph was a devoted family man who loved spending time outdoors, camping, cooking, and target shooting. His greatest joy came from being with his wife and three children: Joseph Jr. “JoJo,” Ava, and Jaxton. His commitment to his family and his passion for firefighting were central to his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Elisabeth, and their three children. He also leaves behind his siblings: Maryellen (John) Dillon, Charles (Corinne) Sheehan, Julie Lowy, and John (Emily) Sheehan; his in-laws, Mario and Grace Misdea; best friends Matt and Jenn Jackunas; and many other beloved relatives, friends, and firefighting colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory can be made to support his young children through the Palm Coast Volunteer Fire Rescue.
Joseph’s warmth, love, and dedication will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
