Kent proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1970, achieving the rank of Sergeant. During his service, he earned several medals, including the prestigious Purple Heart.
After his military service and a well-earned retirement. He had a deep love of music and motorcycles, spending many joyful hours playing guitar and riding along Florida’s scenic roads. He was also a proud member of the Daytona Blues Society, where he shared his passion for the blues community.
Kent is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sallie; sons, Brian Carroll and Feyd Carroll; stepdaughters, Toni Russell Davis, Lela Macon Traynor, and Jennifer “J.J.” Allen; step-grandchild, Victoria “Ilana” Cordeiro; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Elise Cordeiro; and his sister, Jan Mucci.
He will be laid to rest at a later date at the Lexington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kent’s memory may be made to Kids Rock the Nation, an organization that helps inspire and support young musicians.
