Leona was born December 12, 1931 in Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, a daughter of Ed and Bessie Sturgill.
She grew up in Tennessee, lived in Delaware, and moved to Florida in 1978. Leona attended Calvary Christian Center in Ormond, where she was an active member. She enjoyed raising and breeding dogs. Leona was a very caring and loving person, and was always there to lend a helping hand. She volunteered at the Love Center.
She is survived by her husband of 77 years, Claude Ray Davis whom she married October 26, 1948. She is also survived by two daughters, Betty Davis and Barbara Williams; a son-in-law, Mark Linton; and three grandchildren, Teresa Linton, Tammy Linton, and Matthew Williams, and their spouses; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Thelma Lipford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by five siblings.
Family and friends will be received Monday, March 23rd from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at Calvary Christian Center 1687 W. Granada Blvd in Ormond Beach, where services will be held at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens
