Linda Lea Braun

Linda Lea Braun, nee Ristine, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023, at the Bailey Hospice Center, St. Augustine, FL. She was 82 years old. Born in Strafford, MO, on April 7, 1941, she was the oldest child of Louis Lindsa and Sarah Virginia Ristine (Campbell).

Linda was raised in Springfield, MO, where she met and married her husband, Forest Allen Braun. The couple were married on February 6, 1956, in Springfield, MO. Over the next ten years they had 3 children, Debra Lynne, Thomas Allen, and Gary Dean.

In 1966, the family moved to Baker, Louisiana, a suburb of the greater Baton Rouge area, and made that their new home. Linda was a career homemaker and mother who devoted herself to the welfare of her family. She was also an avid crafter and enjoyed making beautiful quilts. Later in life, she worked for 10 years as a Walmart Associate helping customers in the fabric department.

Linda was also an active member of St Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Zachary, LA where she enjoyed serving on the Altar Guild for many years. She also loved cooking and baking for her family, extended family and church functions. In September 2022, Linda moved to St Augustine, Florida, to be closer to her daughter.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and step father Lester McNabb, her husband Forest, her 2 sons, Thomas and Gary, and a granddaughter, Tommi Danielle. She is survived by her brother, Larry Don Ristine, of Springfield, Mo, her daughter, Debra L. Rankin of Palm Coast, FL and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by many cousins, nephews, and nieces, that reside in and around the Springfield, MO area. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, 11:00AM at Maple Park Cemetery, 300 West Grand, Springfield, MO.65807
