

Louis was a graduate of Hungarian High School and of The University of Maryland. He graduated UMD with a BS in Business Management. Louis served in the US Army for over 23 years, retiring in 1980 and was a Veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Army, he worked for Penn State University as Manager for Material and Office of Physical Plant Stores over 21 years, retiring in 2001. Louis also worked for the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office as Senior Captain. He was certified by the State of Florida as a Traffic Crash Investigator, he supervised/volunteered for the COP Traffic Investigators, performed traffic controls and investigated traffic crashes for the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of the Institute for Supply Management Inc. and the Military Officer’s Association of America. Louis was a lifetime member and two time past President of The Williamsport and State College PA, Chapter of Institute for Supply Management Inc., formerly National Association of Purchasing Management.
Louis is survived by his daughter, Peggy J. Plank from State College, PA, his son, Steven A. Plank, from Pleasant Gap, PA, and many other family and friends.
Louis was a good man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. There will be a Funeral Service Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 10am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
