Mary Elizabeth Drescher, 82, of Flagler Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on April 16, 2025. Born on March 9, 1943, in New York City to the late G. Vincent and Mary Kenyon, Mary spent her early years in New York before settling in Rockland County, where she raised her family.
She worked alongside her family at the Drescher Insurance Agency for 15 years. Following the sale of the business, Mary became the office manager at Hudson Valley Neurosurgery, where she dedicated another 15 years of service.
She made the move to the Flagler Beach area, a place she quickly embraced and made her own. Mary became a passionate volunteer in her community, especially through her work with the Kiwanis Club and the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church. She was always quick to lend a helping hand and deeply valued giving back.
Mary was also a familiar face at the Flagler Beachfront Winery—affectionately referred to by her as “the Slushy Place”—where she enjoyed time with friends and the beautiful coastal views.
Above all else, Mary cherished her family. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren, whose lives she touched with endless love and support.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Drescher, in 2020.
Mary is survived by her children, Robert Conklin and his wife Anita, and Chris Conklin and his partner Lisa Pelky, Ira Drescher and his wife Carol, Ronald and his wife Cathy Drescher; her grandchildren, Patrick, Ryan, Robert, Christian, Sam, Darren, Lyle, and Chloe; daughter-in-law Colleen Wash Conklin; as well as many cherished relatives and friends.
Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, an organization close to her heart.
