Maureen Lenniger

February 3, 1946 – March 17, 2023

The first of four children, Maureen Sugalski Lenniger, was born in River Edge, NJ to Marie and Stephen Sugalski. After a long illness, Maureen, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. Maureen is predeceased by her parents and is survived by her partner Joe, son Craig and daughter Danielle. She is also survived by her brothers Jeff (Linda) of Port Jervis, NY; Kevin of Johnstown, PA and Ronald (Cindy) of Milford, PA. Maureen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews including Gregory and his children, Harrison, Elliott, Ruby and their mom Rachel; Adam (Kari) and their son Hudson; Amanda, Todd, Eric (Marisa) and their children Caden, Austin, Mason and Cora; Colleen (Wayne); and Colin.

Maureen grew up in River Edge, NJ and attended Academy of Holy Angles in Fort Lee, NJ where she met her lifelong best friend Marylou. Maureen then studied Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. After college Maureen started her family in Ringwood NJ, then moved to Tinton Falls, NJ where she raised Craig and Danielle through their school years. Maureen was very involved in their schooling and was a very active member of the PTA, serving as President for two years. Maureen then moved to Lanoka Harbor, NJ to live out her dream of living on the water before she retired and moved to Bunnell, FL. Maureen loved her garden and flowers and spent many of her leisure hours working on them. Maureen spent many summers on Avon by the Sea’s shoreline with her friends and children in the summer as the beach was her favorite place to be.

Maureen embraced people fully and was a friend to everyone she knew. She was kind, forgiving and generous with her time, friendship and love. Maureen would want us to move forward now, as we must, without her, and in a manner that would make her proud.

A Celebration of Life will be held in New Jersey later this summer to honor our mother, loved one, sister, aunt, and friend.
