Nancy “Becky” Thibeault, 79, of Bunnell, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on November 30, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 17, 1946, in Shelby, North Carolina, and moved to Florida at the age of five.
Becky was a graduate of Dan McCarty High School in Fort Pierce, Class of 1964. Soon after graduating, she met the love of her life, Thomas “Tommy” Thibeault, who famously swept her off her feet—often literally—picking her up on his motorcycle after school each day. They married on December 23, 1966, beginning a beautiful partnership that lasted 58 years.
Together, Becky and Tommy raised three children in the Daytona Beach area before settling in Flagler County in 1991. Becky was a gifted seamstress who could create just about anything. She was especially known for her incredible Halloween costumes and the many stunning pageant outfits she lovingly crafted for her family over the years.
She cherished her time spent outdoors on her small farm, caring for her animals, and she never passed up a good church rummage sale. Her creativity, warmth, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie DeBerry Mark, and her stepfather, James R. “Jack” DeBerry Jr., who lovingly raised her as his own.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Deen Thibeault; her children, Tammy (Michael) Nienburg, Michael Thibeault, and Tracy Crowe and her longtime partner Alex Lape; her grandchildren, Chelsy Dowdy, Kelly Nienburg, and Jeffrey Nienburg; and her great-grandchild, Avery Dowdy. She is also survived by her siblings, James R. “Butch” DeBerry III, Thomas W. DeBerry, David D. DeBerry, and Barbara DeBerry Herring; her sister-in-law, Janis Southward; and many more loving relatives and friends.
Becky will be remembered for her boundless love, her kindness, and the joy she brought into every life she touched. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the countless memories she leaves behind.
