Rod Rowledge

Rod Rowledge 86, of Ormond, FL. and Scotia, New York passed away during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Halifax Health Hospice Ormond Beach Care Center. He was born on March 22, 1936 to the late Dudley and Mabel Rowledge in Schenectady, New York. After college he went to work for his father in the family business, Rowledge Insurance Agency in Scotia, New York. He was proud that the business was passed onto his son Bruce and in turn to his grandson, Ben. Once he retired, he decided to winter in Ormond Beach enjoying that warm Florida sunshine. Rod was a 62-year member of Rotary belonging to the Scotia Rotary Club but was active with the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach. He was also active with the Glenville Republican Party serving as Chair for many years. In his younger years, Rod enjoyed skiing and sailing with his family, spending time in their summer home on Galway Lake. Rod will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. His friends all loved his humor and positive attitude. “Never Had A Bad Day”.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lucille Roberts Rowledge; sister, Suzanne Fallo; cousin, Betty Jane Blackmore; good friends, Joe and Dorothy Hathaway. Survivors include his children, Bruce (Patty) Rowledge, Laurel (John Macci) Rowledge; grandchildren, Benjamin (Nicole) Sequeira, Adam (Tira Neal) Sequeira, Meghan, Rowledge, Robert Rowledge; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Santino Sequeira and many more loving relatives, friends and Rotary family. A celebration of life for Rod will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Halifax Plantation Golf Club, 3400 Clubhouse Drive, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.
