

Willard “Earl” Singleton transitioned to his heavenly home on September 9, 2024, at AdventHealth Palm Coast Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1937, in McClellanville, South Carolina to the late Gabe and Martha Singleton. They lived in Libwin Community.
Earl was educated and graduated from Lincoln High School in McClellanville, South Carolina. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to New York City and was employed at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where he worked for 33 years before retiring.
Earl met Gloria Dickens when they both worked at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. They were happily married for 49 years. Out of this union, they were blessed with four shared children, Reginald, Michael Earl, Cassandra and Robin.
In 1990, Earl and Gloria relocated to Palm Coast, FL. They both joined First AME Church. Earl became a member of the Mighty Men of FAME. Earl was a very active man and was given the title of “road runner”. He loved to travel, hunt and fish. Earl loved the outdoors. He was not satisfied with staying at home. He came out of retirement to work at St. Augustine General Hospital in the operating room. He left there and started working at Florida Hospital Flagler which later became Advent Health. He retired after fifteen years of service. Earl enjoyed playing cards with friends, watching football and listening to gospel music. He especially loved the Williams Brothers and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.
Earl is survived by his loving wife Gloria, two sons Reginald Frost, Michael Earl Singleton, two daughters Cassandra (Tommie) Johnson and Robin Reneé Banks. Five grandchildren, Keyana (Travis) Pierre, Darnell LeVerne Garrett, Dejah Banks and Zanah Banks. Three great grandchildren, Lyric Garrett, Dakoda Garrett and Jah’Vie Garrett. Also cherishing his memories are Anthony Banks and Michael Harrison whom Earl loved as his own sons. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Gabe and Martha Singleton, five siblings, Rev. Josephine Vanderhost, Jonathan Singleton, Letha Horne, Carrie Wright, and Romona Matthews.
Earl will be greatly missed. His precious memories will forever be cherished.

A funeral service to honor Earl's life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the First AME Church of Palm Coast, with a viewing starting at noon. Interment will follow immediately at Flagler Memorial Gardens. Earl will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
