

William Jules Mol, 75, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away at 1:30am on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at Jacksonville Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. A gathering of family and friends will start at 9:30am on January 3, 2020, at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home in Flagler Beach, Florida, followed by a memorial service beginning at 10:30am. William was born on November 10, 1944 in Louvain, Belgium to Maurice Mol and Florentine Huygens. He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Vrancxk-Mol; his brother, Christian Mol, and his parents, Maurice Mol and Florentine Huygens-Mol. William is survived by his son Bart Mol, daughter-in-law Christina (Long) Mol, grandchildren Ellie Mol and Julia Mol (of Atlanta, Michigan); daughter, Annelies Mol (of Tienen, Belgium), grandchildren, Lore Van Cauwenbergh and Ella Vanden Eynde of Tienen, Belgium); his sister-in-law, Betty Van Meerbeek; and two nieces, Tania Mol (De Roye) and Ilke Mol (Van Eylen). William attended the University of Louvain, Belgium and worked his entire 34 year career at Caterpillar, Inc. There, he made life-long friends who became part of his family. His job at Caterpillar is what brought him to Peoria, Illinois. He moved from Peoria to Ormond Beach over 10 years ago to be close to his circle of friends, a circle he expanded by joining the Church Choir of First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach. William was proud to work hard and provide for his family. He believed that cooking delicious food paired with serving the perfect wine was a way to show his love and bring family and friends closer together. He enjoyed cooking for others, reading, travel, taking photographs, and relaxing by the ocean. Cooking gave him such pleasure that he founded Coeur d’ Culinaire of Peoria, Illinois, a Gourmet Cooking Club which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. A lover of music, gardening, bird-watching, and art, he had a special way of making everything and everyone around him more beautiful.He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
