

Born May 15th, 1933, Albert Martin was the third oldest child of Henry and Emma (Cauley) Martin of Flint, Michigan. Albert accepted Christ at an early age, and was an active member of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High and went on to complete his masters of business at Detroit College of Business. Albert proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged following his service in the Korean War. He retired from General Motors – AC Spark plug division as a skilled trade’s supervisor. Albert was married 51 years on November 16th to the love of his life, Marian D. Martin. He was involved in many community activities such as, Big Brothers of Greater Flint, Boy Scouts of America, Haskell Community Center volunteer, and the VFW George Washington Carver Post as Post Commander from 1986 to 1987. He was a lifetime member. Albert enjoyed photography and genealogy research. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Marian D. Martin; daughter, Carmen (Cedric) Clark; son, Erikk Martin; grandchildren, Brian Neely and Cinnamon Clark; 6 brothers: Leon, Wilbert (Marian E.), Clifton ( Margaret), Shabaka (Naomi), and David (Regina) Martin, all of Flint, and Gabriel Martin of Georgia. 3 sisters: Racheal Martin of Flint, Vivian Hicks of Jemison, Alabama and Alvina Martin of Chicago, Illinois. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma Martin; brothers, Reverend Pelvie Martin, Clyde, Claude, and Harvey Martin; sisters, Shirley and Syllian Martin. The family would like to express special thanks to Heartland Healthcare-Fostrian Manor nursing home and assisted living, and Heartland Hospice. Extra special thanks to the nurse aides at Heartland. There will be a family visitation on Monday, November 25th, at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 West Pierson Road at 10am with a memorial service beginning at 12pm. There will be a repast hosted by Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, 317 East Hamilton Avenue, Flint at 2pm.
