Daniel William Porter

Beloved brother of Dawn Hyde and Mark (Kay) Porter; uncle of many loved nieces and nephews; step-father of Jessica Jesburg; also survived by his dear dog, QP. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Velma; his brother Adam (Sue) Porter; and favorite dog, Chip.

Daniel was born March 14, 1962 in Flint to Kenneth and Velma Porter. He graduated Carman High School, Class of 1980. Following high school, he proudly served his country with the Army and studied illustration at Lowry AFB in Denver. Daniel was a rescue diver, enjoyed classic movies and TV shows, and trained in SCUBA and underwater robotics. He had recently taken his dream trip to Costa Rica where he triumphantly exclaimed he had tried surfing, but mastered the art of wiping out.

The family will greet friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, Michigan. Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, October 1 at the above location. Graveside services following at Sunset Hills Cemetery .
