Janice Loraine Shimmons

SHIMMONS, Janice Loraine- age 76, of Flushing, MI passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 5PM-9PM and Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 12PM-9PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:30AM at Reigle Funeral Home – Sunset Chapel 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, MI 48433. Chaplain Hank Messing officiating. Interment will take place at Flushing Cemetery. Janice was born October 24, 1938 in Flint, MI to the late Wilson and Ruth (VanWagoner) Carb. She married William Shimmons in Flint, MI in 1962. Janice belonged to the Flushing Senior Citizens Crochet Club. She loved Bingo and taking trips to the casino. But most of all, Janice loved her family. Her most favorite moments were those she spent with them for their annual summer and winter get-togethers at the park, family card nights with her brothers and sisters, and family breakfasts once a month. Janice is survived by her son; Bill (Yvonne) Shimmons of Tacoma, WA, daughter; Teresa Shimmons of Flushing, MI, brothers; Bill (Stella) Carb, Jerry (Betty) Carb, sisters; Doramae Pusey, Norma (Russ) Lumsden, Dorothy (Tom) Abdella, Ethel Swain, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Wilson (Ruth) Carb, husband; William Shimmons, brothers; Ralph and Nelson, and sisters; Marie, Donna, and Janet.
