Jarrod Kristofer Nickell

NICKELL, Jarrod Kristofer – of Flushing, age 18, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012, at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing, MI, Father Roy Horning celebrant. Burial will be in Maryland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America – Tall Pine Council. Friends may visit the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, MI. A Prayer Service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Jarrod will be at the church from 12 noon Monday until the time of the Mass. Jarrod was born on October 8, 1993. He was the beloved son of James and Michele Nickell of Flushing and Jodi and Presley Santos of Maryland. In addition to his parents, surviving Jarrod are brothers, Jonnathan and Jordan, and sisters, Alexis, Ashley, Adison, Alyssa, Autumn, Olivia and Sydney, along with many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brother scouts and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ann Harris and grandfather Darkfeather Red Eagle. Jarrod was a member of Tall Pine Council, Flushing Troop 206, and had recently attained the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. He was an assistant Cub Scout leader, played varsity football at Flushing High School, and had undergone Marine Corp training. Jarrod was proud to be a future Marine and was scheduled to enter the corps this summer. Jarrod’s passing was sudden and unexpected; all who knew him loved him, and he them. Everyone will miss his beautiful smile, delightful laugh, and sense of humor. We sorely grieve his loss yet believe that he is in the loving arms of God. Jarrod you left us far too soon; until we meet again – God bless you, we love you. “We are beautiful no matter what they say; words won’t bring us down…”
