BLACK, Joanne ‘Jodi’ of Flushing, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 after living strongly with cancer for three years. Jodi loved her family, nature and gardening. Jodi devoted over 20 years of her life to the city of Flushing and its residents. She is survived by: Husband, Dale J. Black, together for 23 years; Sons, Fred (Joanna) Frye and Andrew (Kim) Frye; Granddaughter, Penelope; Father, Frederick ‘Fritz’ Evers; Sisters, Patricia (Richard) Cain and Ellen (Don) Hildebrand; Nieces, Megan Cain, Erin and Meredith White and Nephew, Mathew Cain. Preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Evers. Friends may visit the family Sunday and Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing. Funeral Service Tuesday 4 PM at Reigle Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or City of Flushing Riverwalk.
