

Andrew Michael Kavanagh, a kind and resilient man, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 16, 1959, Andrew led a mostly quiet life, but one filled with deep family ties and remarkable accomplishments for which he sought no fanfare.
He was the beloved partner of Silvia Villeda and a devoted father to his four children: Blaise (Nicole) Kavanagh, Michael (Allison) Kavanagh, Kieran Kavanagh, and Meghan (Michael) Richardson. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Augustin, Ambrose, James, and Amelia. Andrew is also survived by his siblings: Kenneth Kavanagh, Patricia Miner, and Donna Kavanagh. He is predeceased by his brother, Joseph Kavanagh, and his parents, Joseph Kavanagh and Theodora Kavanagh (nee Mastrototaro).
Andrew was known not only for his deep commitment to family but also for his impressive personal achievements. He was a proud participant in countless road races and athletic challenges, including the New York City Marathon and New York City Triathlon. Additionally, he was a dedicated teacher, school principal, and personal trainer, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those he taught, coached and mentored.
Visitation will take place at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY, 11358, on December 28, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Andrew Avellino Roman Catholic Church, 35-60 158th St, New York, NY, 11358, on December 29, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, NY.
Andrew Michael Kavanagh will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kind and courageous spirit and calm nature have left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends.
