Charles Edward Schapers Jr., aged 63, passed away on August 29, 2025. A resident of Freeport, New York, Charles was born on April 10, 1962. He was known for his love of music and collectibles, and in his most recent years was mentor to many who struggled with addiction.
Charles was the beloved son of the late Charles and Rosalie. He was the brother to Marie Mattera, and an uncle, cousin, and friend to many. His family and friends remember him for his quirky sense of humor.
In his personal life, Charles had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was also passionate about sports and comics, which brought him great joy and fulfillment. Charles was a proud member of Local 7 and a skilled tile setter.
Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on September 9, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Interment will take place at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, on September 10, 2025, at 12:30 pm.
