Daniel J. Gilmartin

A true lover of the water, Daniel enjoyed boating and fishing especially for salmon in the East Bay of Traverse City, Mi. After a great day of fishing he would relax on his boat watching the breathtaking sunset over the bay. His first adventures in boating began in the Long Island Sound of New York where many fond memories were made with his family and friends. Daniel was a successful chief financial officer, vice president and consultant in the retail industry.

He is survived by his beloved Eileen. Loving father of Barbara Bucaro (Robert), Daniel Gilmartin, Tara Gilmartin, Sean Gilmartin, and the late Brian Michael Gilmartin. Proud grandfather of Bridget Bucaro, Jillian Bucaro, Liana Bucaro, Patrick Gilmartin, Margaret “Maggie” Gilmartin, Evan Gilmartin, and Matthew Gilmartin. Dear brother of Patrick Gilmartin (Nilsa) and Robert Gilmartin (Charmian). Uncle of Patrick Gilmartin, Veronica Gilmartin, Dorian Gilmartin, Gemma Gilmartin, Jimmy Dowling, Jeannine Dowling, Thomas Dowling, Michael Dowling, Christopher Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Tricia Kennedy and Susan Kennedy.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 3-8 PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel) 32515 Woodward Ave (between 13-14 Mile).

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Flushing, New York on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10:45 AM at St. Andrew Avellino Catholic Church 35-60 158 Street, Flushing, NY 11358. Visitation on Saturday before the Mass will be from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM at Frederick Funeral Home 192-15 Northern Blvd., Flushing, NY 11358.

Burial will take place at Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery in Flushing, New York.
