Giovanna Giannattasio

Giovanna Giannattasio, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, at the age of 99. She was the beloved wife of the late Gaetano Giannattasio, with whom she shared a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion.

Giovanna was a cherished mother to her six children: Raffaele Giannattasio, Gerardo Giannattasio, Carmela Regolino, Angelo Giannattasio, Giuseppe Giannattasio, and the late Antonio Giannattasio. Her nurturing spirit, wisdom, and strength shaped the lives of her children, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love and support throughout their lives.

As a grandmother, Giovanna's heart was full as she adored her 15 grandchildren: Valerio (Ana) Giannattasio, Giovanna Giannattasio, Paola (Maurizio) Giannattasio, Raffaele (Melissa) Giannattasio Jr., Carlo (Yesenia) Giannattasio, Patricia (John) Ginestri, Gerardo (Michelle) Giannattasio Jr., Sonia (John) Ferrara, Joseph (Adriana) Giannattasio, Anthony Giannattasio, Jason Giannattasio, Steven Giannattasio, Thomas Regolino, Gabriella Regolino, and Stephanie Regolino. Each of them carried her love and teachings in their hearts, and she was immensely proud of their accomplishments.

Giovanna's legacy will also live on through her 13 great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched with affection and joy: Raffaele Giannattasio III, Robert Giannattasio, Ryan Giannattasio, Sofia Ginestri, Stefania Ginestri, Lorenzo Ginestri, Lily Giannattasio, Giuliana Giannattasio, Viviana Giannattasio, Eliana Giannattasio, Michael Giannattasio, Amber Giannattasio, and Domenico Ferrara.

A woman of deep faith, compassion, and boundless love, Giovanna's family was always the center of her world. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a pillar of strength, a source of comfort, and a guiding light for her family.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely during her 99 years with us.

A visitation for Giovanna will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Kevin's RC Church, 45-21 194th St, New York, NY 11358. An entombment will occur Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Michael's Cemetery - Mausoleums/Cremation Niches, 7202 Astoria Blvd S, New York, NY 11370.
