John was born to the late John Sr. and Agnes Wojno, in Forest Hills, New York, and was the older brother of the late Stephen Wojno. He carried their memory with him always, honoring the values they instilled: hard work, loyalty, and love of family. John spent many years working as a cab dispatcher, a job that fit his deep knowledge of the city streets. He was known for his no-nonsense attitude and sharp sense of humor.
A lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the Denver Broncos, John could often be found cheering from his armchair, offering colorful commentary, words of encouragement to his teams, and trash talking the opposing teams. He also had a love for poker, where his strategic mind and love for good company came together at the card table.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, and his grandson, Dominick. We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved parents and brother, embraced in God’s everlasting peace. A prayer service will be held at a later date.
