Julia Berta Escobar

Julia Berta Escobar, 79, passed away on February 23, 2026. Cherished, faithful, and wise, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring love. Julia was born on February 18, 1947, in Arcatao, Chalatenango, El Salvador.

Julia dedicated her working life to caring for others as a nurse, a role that reflected her steady compassion and sense of duty.

Julia was the mother of Alma Ruth García (husband Jorge Alberto García), and their daughters Vanessa Nereida García, Natalie Georgina García, and Karina Esmeralda García; Caroline Beatriz Castaneda Escobar; and Karla Leonor Moreno Escobar (husband Ruben Esteva), and their children Zoee Lynn Esteva Moreno, Arya Marie Esteva Moreno, Ruben Eduardo Esteva Moreno, and Maya Kamila Esteva Moreno.

She was the sister of Rolando Escobar Córdova, Marco Vinicio Escobar Córdova, Luis Gustavo Escobar Córdova, and Ena Gloria Melany Escobar Córdova; and the late María Emelina Escobar Córdova de Calderón, Ana Leticia Escobar Córdova de Crespín, Violeta Emérita Escobar Córdova de Morán, and Balmore Amilcar Escobar Córdova.

Julia found joy in painting, flowers, shopping, and watching favorite TV shows including HGTV, Caso Cerrado, and Acercate A Rocio. She also had a special affection for the family pets—cats Mimi, Star (Chispita), Manchas, and Maggie the family dog.

She enjoyed many beloved foods, including Coca Cola, classic Lay’s potato chips, lasagna, pupusas, plátanos fritos (sweet plantains), beans, queso, crema, aguacate, sopa de pata, chicharrónes con yuca, camarones, patas de cangrejos, cocos, mangos, papaya, cherries, watermelon, strawberries, anonas, and lichees. Her music favorites included Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Los Panchos, Vicente Fernandez, Jessi Uribe, Leodan, Camilo Sesto, Jose Luis Perales, Roberto Carlos, and Pedro Infante.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, US.
