

Beloved daughter and friend, of New York City, died on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Linda was born to Rudy and the late Kay Matula in Brooklyn. She received a BA from Baruch College in Sociology and an MA from SUNY/Empire State in Social Policy/Disabilities. Linda worked in sales, marketing and promotion for B&B, Staten Island Shopping
Center, and WBGO among others. Her passion was the non-profit sector; she was Director of Child Care and Nutrition for the Police Athletic League (PAL) for nearly 12 years. She served as Vice President/ Consultant for New York Industries for the Blind and the first Executive Director of the WorkFirst Foundation. She had a fierce sense of humor, a zest for life, and a passion for children, her friends and her family.
Linda is survived by her father, Rudy Matula of Flushing, NY,
aunt Paula and husband Richard Adams of Severna Park MD,
cousin Lucy and husband Vladimir of Chicago, and
cousins Ken, Robert, Christopher, and Susan of Severna Park, MD
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31 and Thursday November 1st from 2 – 5 pm and 7 – 9 pm. at Quinn- Fogarty Funeral Home. On Friday November 2nd, viewing at 9 am, funeral service at 10:20 with interment directly following at Flushing Cemetery.
