Louis Adami, beloved husband of Trudy Adami, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024. He was the loving father of Lenora Adami, Regina Adami, Maria Fisher (Brian), Eva Moriarty (Brian), and Angela Spagnolo (Salvatore). Louis was cherished as a grandfather by Aiden, Matthew, Colin, Steven, Grace, Dylan and Logan. Adored son of Frank and Ermina Adami. Dear son in law of Elfie Miklitsch. He was a devoted son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. AKA: Uncle Lou, Hardware Lou or Louie.
For decades, the Adami Family owned a hardware store, first started by Frank & Ermina Adami in Jamaica Queens. When their parents decided to retire, Louie and his brother Al decided to take on the business and moved it to Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn. You would always find Louie busy in the store serving his customers with warmth and expertise. And if he wasn't in the store he was out on a locksmith job. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family, whom he loved dearly.
Louie will be remembered for his kindness, his generous spirit, and his unwavering love for his family. If you needed something, Uncle Lou was the man everyone came to see. If he didn't have it, he was sure to help you find it. Whatever he had he was happy to share. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Louie was deeply committed to his community and his passions. He loved animals/pets, gardening, winemaking, cooking, fishing, hunting, baseball and most of all “Socializing”. If you were down on your luck, he was the guy who handed you a buck or would buy you a beer. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus and an active participant at the Williamsburg Point Yacht Club, where he formed lasting friendships and enjoyed many memorable moments.
Louis’s presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
