With love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Lou Pacheco—loving husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal friend, and all-around remarkable man. Born on May 6, 1943, Lou lived a life filled with service and purpose. A distinguished Vietnam War veteran and first responder on September 11th, he proudly served his country and was beloved by his community. The definition of integrity and strength of character, his greatest joy came from the people he loved most—his family and those he made his family.
Lou was deeply loved and widely respected. He was the heart of every gathering. A storyteller, a prankster and most notably a vivacious reader, always eager and prepared to talk history. His wisdom was matched only by his warmth and his sense of humor.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Iris Pacheco; his children, Alaric Pacheco, Stephanie Kountourakis, Vanessa Pacheco, and Erica Pacheco; and his adored grandchildren, Sascha, Annika, Eli, and Henry—all of whom were the pride of his life.
Please join us in celebrating Lou’s incredible life on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, from 3 PM to 5 PM and again from 6 PM to 8 PM at Frederick’s Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY 11358. Internment to take place at Calverton National Cemetery of Friday, October 10, 2025 at 1 PM.
We will come together not just to mourn his passing, but to share stories, laughter, and love in honor of the man who gave us so much of all three. Though we will miss him dearly, Lou leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage, kindness, humor, and heart that will live on in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
