Marie M. Warhola

Marie Mae (Serra) Warhola, 86, of Whitestone, New York, passed away on February 17, 2017. Marie was the daughter of Daniel Thomas Serra and Lillian (Randazzo) Serra of Mineola, NY. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Robert Warhola Jr., her grandson, James Daniel Warhola, and her granddaughter, Jean Marie Warhola.

Marie was born in her parents' home in Mineola, NY, with the help of a midwife, on May 23, 1930. She attended Adelphi University, where she first met her soon to be husband, Paul. Marie graduated from Adelphi in June of 1952. She later attended Columbia Teacher's College, and eventually worked as a Spanish teacher at Bethpage High School, before becoming a full-time mother living in Whitestone, Queens, raising her four boys.

Words cannot describe what a loving and energetic soul she was; a person who loved her family more than anything in the world, and would do anything for them. She was truly beautiful both inside and out. She loved the Lord, and loved her country. She was always quick with a compliment or a kind word, and always grateful.

Marie is survived by her son Donald; son Raymond and his wife Gail Maidment; son Keith and his girlfriend Alice Burno; son Ken and wife Sheila, and granddaughter Lindsay Thomas. Marie is also survived by her grandson Daniel Wilson Warhola and wife Julie Warhola, along with her great-grandchildren; Peter Warhola, Noah Valandra, Abigail Warhola, Luke Warhola, Hannah Valandra, Jude Warhola, Sean Warhola, Grace Warhola, and Bethel Warhola.

The family of Marie M. Warhola will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 and Thursday February 23, 2017 from 2-5 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10:45am St. Mel RC Church. Cremation Private.

Immediately following the mass, at approximately 12:15pm, will be a reception at Verdi's of Whitestone, 149-58 Cross Island Pkwy, Whitestone, NY 11357.
