As I move on with my life, there isn't a minute where I don't think about you. I think about how proud you will be of me, and how you would know the solution to any problem I would have. I hate how we still don't have you here with us. I hate how I can't experience these milestones with you. I miss you dearly. You were wise and a beautiful person, inside and out. I know you are still here with us, watching over us and guiding us. I wish I could have one more conversation again and explain what happened while you were gone. In this world we are blessed with many people who come and go in our lives. Our blessing came to us in our Aunt Mary Rocco, she was many people to many in our family, but to me she was the coolest, hippest Aunt one could have. I have so many happy memories of time spent with my Aunt Mary. As long as I can remember she has always been in my life. It is so hard to imagine that I can’t just pick up the phone and hear the sound of her voice or her laughter. One of my fondest memories is of the block parties we would attend as a small girl. Running around the neighborhood with my crazy cousins and dancing in the street. I could do no wrong in her eyes. I became a better person by being with her. Her advice and infectious laughter always brought a smile to my face. We moved from NY when I was 13. But no matter how long in between visits I always had Aunt Mary to support and love me when I came home to NY. She comforted me when my dad passed in 1993 and when mom passed in 2013. I never felt alone when she was near. I will hold you forever in my heart ❤️ and I hope that we will meet again. Forever at Peace. 

I am who I am because of who you were. Enjoy your endless supply of Pepsi and I will hold you with me forever.

Dear Mom 

Thank you for being my mother and my best friend in the world. Mom you are beautiful loving  you are my best friend I could ever have and you taught me to babysit,  sports,  you and your friends are like the golden girls show. Together laughing talking all together watching your children, grandchildren, friends children. crocheting baby outfits for the grandchildren and friends children  watching knicks, tv shows, talk shows and, you and I having your pasta, pepsi, and ice cream. watching our shows together when I watch our movies and show, I would think of you never forget you forever  in my thought prayers and in my heart Mom I love you forever, Love your daughter and best friend  Donna

I just reading all the kind words about you again.  I have a funny story, too.  Years ago Kathy Marinovich's son was sleeping over your house.  Then he disappeared.  You called Kathy and asked what happened to Joseph?  She said that you and Uncle Pat were fighting and he got scared and left.  LOL  Aunt Mary said "fighting? " , we were discussing what to have for dinner.  You gotta be Italian to be get it.  Hilarious.

Aunt Mary was the epitome of generosity and hospitality. Whenever Sue and I would travel to NYC and visit her, she always made us feel like a special guest – like beloved family members. The Big Apple has become a little smaller with her passing. We will miss her.  Jason Breen and Susan Dieleman.

Hi Mary, I will miss you dearly.  I’m so glad that we were brought together on this earth. You being Nicky and Josh’s  Nanny and I their Aunt “Thea”... I will always keep you in my heart until we meet again.

Dear Nanny,

We miss you so much already. We will always cherish our time with the woman who put us in our first Knicks tracksuits, made a mean baked ziti, and loved Elvis like no other. We have so many memories that we will always hold close to our hearts. So many Halloween’s and St. Patrick’s Day’s spent together. May we one day celebrate them together again. 

Our hearts are broken but we are grateful that you got to see us as the people we have grown into. We have gained another angel and we know you are reunited with Uncle Billy. You will be missed dearly. Thank you for being our grandmother ❤️

Even though i won't see you anymore, you are in my heart and around me where ever i go. I am so thankful for all the memories that we made on my visit to see you. As you would say making memories whenever your nieces and nephews would come.  Each one of us had a special relationship with you all in their own way. You were the coolest Aunt ever. Dear Family Rocco, may your many memories of Aunt Mary help to comfort you at this difficult time. I was saddened to hear of your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Rocco Family, I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Mary passing. Me and the rest of the McQueen and Minor family are praying for comfort and strength right now for you all during this time from the "God of Comfort" 2 Corinthians 1:4.

I look forward to seeing her Billy, my parents and other loved ones that are in that temporary deep sleep to be awaken in God's new world on earth. Keeping this hope in mind gives me peace and I hope it gives you all peace as well.  Revelation 21:3,4

Aunt Mary,

You were one of the most genuine and positive people I have ever met in my life. I was so lucky to be able to call you my aunt. I have so many fond memories with you from when I was a kid. I remember coming over and going on walks to the park with you and Donna. I also remember sitting in your living room watching countless Michael Jackson and Backstreet Boys videos with Ryan and Donna. You were always so welcoming and had such a loving heart. You treated every person that came into your house like they were your kid, and that is one of the many things I admire about you. It hurts so much that you are no longer here, but I look forward to when we meet again. And I know that you'll always be watching over all of us. I hope to make you proud, and I hope you know that I have and will always love you with all my heart. Until we meet again.

You were always there to protect me and always there to comfort me when I needed you the most. I always remember our conversations and how much you loved my drawings. I remember how me, you, and lucky would all sit on the couch just watching t.v. When we would all go to the poconos I remember how I would make you play with me, how you looked so happy to be playing with me made me happy. When you and grandad would fight I would always laugh. It was so hilarious to me how you two would throw cuss words at each other. I admire you for your strength and everything you went through to make your children’s lives the best. Nanny, I love you more than anything and everything. In the future I will make sure to make you proud cause I know how much you will support me with anything. We will see each other again,

Aunt Mary was such a loving and caring person. When I was new to the Rocco family and  my Stephen would bring me to his aunt's house in Rego Park, she always went out of her way to make me feel part of this beautiful family. Later on as our children came into this world Aunt Mary always made sure she knitted them the most beautiful blankets and outfits. She was so funny and on point. I loved her very much and will always remember her with great love and respect.

I have many joyous memories that I will cherish of times spent with you at John and Elsy’s family gatherings. You were always so proud of all your grandchildren and you made sure you showed it. You were always my rock, my support, my mentor and my cheer in the audience at my middle school graduation :) I met you around the time I was going to start kindergarten and I didn’t quite warm up to you since I was a very shy kid. It wasn’t long though that you and I became best friends and I knew I could come to you for anything. You and grandad took me in with open arms and made me part of the Rocco family. From the winter and spring breaks to the summer vacations, your place was the only 5 star hotel in my eyes. I will always enjoy the times we had up at the house in PA. One thing I most certainly cannot forget would be your cooking. Between your macaroni and cheese and your meatballs and sauce. You were not a fan of going shopping so much however that did not stop you from taking Nicky and I clothes shopping or helping make sure we had our school supplies. You and I knew each other for for over 13 years and yet it always felt like we have been friends for much longer than that. It hurts to say goodbye to you but I know where you are now is a place that you are at peace and comfort. God blessed me with the grandmother that you were to me and the great-grandmother you become to my son Sean. Time and time again you had open arms and accepted Kayla and Sean into the family. You even made Sean baby blankets and little outfits. Covid took away our chance of making more meaningful memories but you always had high spirits and I’m thankful you got to see and hold Sean a few times. As life goes, there are always good times and bad times. You were at the hospital a few times during the last few years but nothing made me happier than to visit you and share a few laughs. So no matter what was thrown your way you always had love around you and plenty of it to give. I love you nanny ❤️ I hope we will see each other again some day. 

Mary, a.k.a. Nanny, loved nothing more than being with family and friends. Throughout the years she has been there for me and my boys. I am thankful to have had her in our lives. Word's cannot even express what she meant to us all. I will miss our talks, our laughs and the love she gave out so easily to everyone. Mary will be forever missed. We love you Mary ❤

My condolences, I remember Mary fondly as a second mom. I grew up with Patrick and we have been friends since the second grade.  I remember she always had an extra plate whenever I was over the house and treated me like another son. Mary was amazing and raised an excellent family. 

My sincere condolences. May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. I shared many memorable moments with Mary. She had the best smile, laugh, and a love for basketball that was unforgettable. She really knew the game and would talk to my sons for hours about it. Aunt Mary was my favorite aunt.  I used to sleep over her house on my school vacations and in the summer.  That's when she only had 3 kids!  Eventually I lived in the apts next to her.  I would be over there all the time.  We used to play marathon games.  We went out to eat a lot.  I have so many fun memories.  Uncle Pat and Aunt Mary  hosted all the Thanksgivings of my youth.  I enjoyed being around them and all my cousins.  Until we meet again...

Mrs. Rocco , What a blessing  Who was to grow up in the building right next to yours I made friends that have lasted my whole life with your son's since I was 5 , I remember that day when I was at the house and everybody was fighting , all your sons but it was normal to me because I come from an Irish Italian family so I told you I was thirsty and you poured me a glass of milk, Then you ask me do I fight with my brothers, and I replied of course and sometimes your son's, lol and then you told me well then I guess they are your brothers too lol  In the midst of chaos you always knew what was important,thank you for always opening your door everytime I knocked , looking for your son's,  you always asked me if I was thirsty , I can't imagine how many knocks you answered , may the love that resonated in your heart be honored and continued by all of us  ,  It says in The Bible a minute In heaven is like a 1000 years on Earth, So it will be just a second for all of us to see you again, God is merciful with time as well ,

I was a young girl, barely 22 years old, when I met you for the first time. So many memories over the past 35 years.
You were there when John and I started dating, our wedding, the buying of our first home, and the births of our girls. When the girls were in grammar school you never missed an event. You were there for every play, piano/ ballet recital, attending all the bingo nights at school. All my family & friends became your family & friends too.
Every milestone you were always cheering the girls on, always telling them how proud you were of them. Loved all the laughter during the holidays and all of parties we shared especially St. Patty’s day when the girls were little all dressed in green 🍀.
Summer days spent in the backyard watching the girls play with Jazzy in the pool. 
Today, like a blink of an eye, the girls are the age I was when I met you.  
Thank you so much for all the memories. Rest In Peace Mary, you earned your wings. Fly high. ❤️❤️❤️

From the  very 1st day I met you, I felt so welcome in your home and in your company. I so enjoying talking to you and loved hearing for the fun family times in New York and especially the "Jimmy" escapades.  It was always so much fun visiting in your home where there was always lots of laughter. I loved your voice, your smile and especially your laugh. RIP Aunt Mary.  I will miss you dearly! Hi Mah, I know you are at peace now, and will be with Billy Now. I am going to Miss you so much, who am I gonna call every morning, I guess I'll call Dad..You were such a great inspiration to me, you never judged me and always had my back wether I was right or wrong. But when I was wrong you dealt with me later, you and Dad made me the Man I am today, one who is caring, Loyal, Giving and to help others that need a hand. You taught me to accept everyone no matter what nationality or color the person is, as long as the person is good. You opened your home to all our friends, and they all loved you like a second Mom. Everyone Knew Mrs. Rocco, and they loved you. Now on to how much you loved and protected all your kids and went to every game, play, or event we had. Thats a lot of work for a Mom with 7 Kids. I thank you for that and for always being there. You were the ultimate grandma (Nanny), you loved and nurtured your grandkids soooo Much, your affection poured into each and everyone of them. I know they will all have great Memories of you and will always carry on your ways, and your sayings you had. You were definitely 1 of a kind. You will always be in my Heart ❤ ♥.  I Love You. P.S. Aunt Mary, you will truly be missed.  Whether it was birthday parties or graduations, you were always there for us. You were the type of person who could meet someone for the first time and talk to them as if you had known them for years. My mom always loved seeing you at celebrations and always asked how you were doing.   You will have an everlasting impact on every person that you came across, and that was one of the many admirable qualities you had. We love you and will miss you very much. 

To my BFF Nanny, 
You were the best friend I could ask for. I was honestly the luckiest grand daughter in the world. 
I could talk to you for hours about anything, literally everything. Or we could not talk at all and just watch bad television for hours on end together. 
Even when I would tell you my deepest secrets, you would always make me feel so loved and seen like nobody else could. You were my biggest supporter and your words always made me feel invincible.
You were one of the warmest people on this planet and could make anyone feel at ease and at home at the Rocco’s.
I couldn’t have asked for a better nanny. Whenever you told me I was just a reincarnation of you (and crazy like you) I couldn’t have been happier haha. 
I’ll miss you forever. New York won’t be the same without you here. 
I love you with my entire heart and soul. We’ll meet again, I’m sure of it. They better have Hoarders or Flea Market Flip on tv in heaven cus we didn’t get to finish marathoning that (And Law and Order SVU of course).

Our conversations were great and your laughter was infectious. Our adventure to NL Canada was fun and our weekends to the Poconos were relaxing. I am truly going to miss you. My Precious Aunt Mary. The sweetest woman who ever graced this earth. She was not only my Aunt but she was my Godmother. I could tell her anything (and I did) and she Never would tell anyone. She and Aunt Millie were MOTHERS I NEVER HAD. Thank you Lord for sharing her with us all.

It is with such a heavy heart I sit here and try to come up with just one memory to share.  Mary was such a huge female role model in my life especially in a time when I had very few.  I spent 9 years in her care after school and even on some weekends.  I can picture her so clearly in my mind in her little corner on that couch with her knicks jersey on and a crochet project in her lap yelling at the tv when Patrick Ewing didn’t play well.  I will hold her with me forever and I send all my love and sympathy to all of you in this difficult time.

Aunt Bonnie , I just had to comment on what you said about Aunt Mary “ no judgement “..... so true , she was ahead of her time ! 

The year I graduated high school,  I had My first trip to New York for a month and spent most of my time “ hanging” with Aunt Mary and Donna and cousin Linda ( if she remembers) as she was in the next building. Rick was also living there. 
Diana and Charles’ wedding was that summer Me, Donna and Aunt Mary spent hours lying on the respective couches and watching every detail of the pre wedding and wedding.  We wondered at the time whether Diana should have married him . Guess we were right 😂 
Loved my time there with Aunt Mary, Uncle Pat and the boys. She always made room and welcomed  her Newfoundland family and Donna always shared her room with me. 💕 
I had a chance to visit with Aunt Mary and the family a few times after and the most recent was meeting in the Poconos and for her to meet my son and to catch up- a memory I’ll cherish...especially the gun store near the diner that completely blew Justin way .( we don’t do guns in Canada as PA does).. 😂 that Patrick will recall. .....Such a great trip !!
Loved her dearly and will miss her . Feels surreal that she is gone.  Grateful to have had her as my aunt .  I enjoyed her wit, sarcasm, knowledge, positive outlook and the  fierce love she had for her kids most of all ..and her entire family. We all know, she had an extra special place in her heart for Donna-wanna ,I honestly don’t think Donna you could have gotten a better Mom. She loved you like no other and  she always believed in you. She demonstrated the same kind of love and pride for her grandkids and kids and kept us all up to date in her daily family emails, whether it was reading stories at Nickys school or bragging about her gorgeous grand daughters .... she was so proud of you all and revelled in your accomplishments. I’ve missed her daily emails the last few months.
She also actually got me hooked on crosswords ( again from my first trip as she did the New York Times crosswords daily and I started with that.  God speed Auntie Mar...RIP 💕 


I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing today.  Mary was a wonderful cousin to me when I was growing up in St. John's NL Canada.  Her mom and my Dad were brother and sister.  I was the oldest girl in my family therefore I did not have an older sister.  Mary took over that task and was my older sister (cousin) and I always loved that she was there for me.  The last time I saw her was at my sister Therese's on Staten Island NY.   Pat and Donna where with her and we had a wonderful reunion. My heart goes out to all the family and my prayers are with you.  God bless her and may she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear the passing of Mary Rocco. Although I have not been in touch for years I have such wonderful memories of visiting Mary and Pat and family in New York with Jackie Breen. We were newly weds and this was our honeymoon. Mary was so welcoming, inviting us into her family, cooking us amazing meals and showing us around to the neighbors and extended family. We were just a couple of young hippies and Mary was so generous and loving to us. I will always remember her  for her big heart and little judgment. I hope the memories of this wonderful loving woman can carry you thru this hard time. Family was everything to Mary. With love, Bonnie

Our hearts are aching as we mourn the loss of our sister, sister in law, and friend.  Our deepest condolences go out to Pat and Donna and the boys and their families.
