Maureen Papalas

Maureen Papalas was a special woman who took care of everyone around her. She was strong, resilient and capable of miracles. She was the definition of what it means to be kind, giving, and selfless in every sense of the words. Maureen was able to create genuine connections with anyone she met and made everyone feel welcomed, and loved. Maureen, age 79, of Flushing, New York passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. She was born December 1, 1942, right in time for her favorite holiday, Christmas. Maureen Papalas was grateful she was able to spend one last Christmas at home with her family and friends.

Beloved wife of Leonidas. Loving mother of Angella (Nikolaos) Nostaris and John Joseph (Carmela) Papalas. Cherished grandmother of Kalliopi, Leonidas, Nepheli, and Alesio. Dear sister of Geraldine Kelliher. Maureen spent 40+ years as a trusted real estate broker at Century 21 Realty. Maureen was a cherished member of every organization she was apart of- always going above and beyond for everyone and everything. This includes St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and School, and the Pan-Icarian Foundation. Anytime there was something that needed to be done, Maureen was always the first one there.

The family of Maureen will be receiving visitors on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. Funeral Liturgy to be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 9am Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 196-10 Northern Blvd., Flushing, N.Y., Interment to follow at Flushing Cemetery, 163-06 46th Avenue, Flushing, NY 11358.
