Michael Koloniaris

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Koloniaris , who left us at the age of 65 on March 17, 2025. Michael was a devoted husband to Sophia, a loving father to his daughter Samantha and her husband Chris, and a cherished son and brother. He was also a beloved brother-in-law, and his kindness extended to his adored nieces and nephews, along with countless friends who were fortunate to know him.

Known affectionately as the "Mayor of Whitestone," Mike was always ready to lend a helping hand. His generosity and willingness to support those in need touched the lives of many. A passionate car enthusiast, Michael found joy in restoring vintage vehicles and riding his motorcycles. His love for music brought people together, and he had a unique ability to make everyone feel important and valued.

The auto repair shop Mekniko, affectionately known as the meeting place , was more than just a place for car repairs; it was a community hub where friends gathered, stories were shared, and laughter echoed through the air. Conversations flowed freely, often punctuated by the sounds of engines revving and tools clanking.

Michael was the life of the party, always ready for a good time, and his infectious spirit will be deeply missed. While we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that his memory will forever be embedded in the hearts of all who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Michael. You will always be remembered.

The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Blvd., Flushing, New York 11358. Funeral Liturgy to be celebrated on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at st. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 196-11 Northern Blvd., Flushing, New York 11358. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, 7202 Astoria Blvd S, East Elmhurst, NY 11370.
