Richard Michael Weston, born on August 19, 1952, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 73. Known for his inspirational, loyal, and resilient nature, Richard left an indelible mark on the lives of those around him.
Richard was the beloved husband of Cheryl. Over the course of their 50 years together they conquered many endeavors, but his greatest joy in life came from the family they created. Richard was a loving father to Antoinette, Richie, and Joseph and his wife Flory. His blessing grew deeper as Pappo, a cherished grandfather, to his grandchildren Lia, Julian, Aria, Caleb, and Bronson.
Richard, the youngest child in his family, was blessed to have the support and strength of his brother and sisters from birth through his passing, with Ronald and his wife Josepha, Peggy and her husband Kevin and Patty, all continuing to support him and his family throughout.
A man of many passions, Richard's love for dance and music was well known. His dance parties with his oldest granddaughter were legendary. As Master Richie, a 5th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, his students continue to reflect on the lasting impact he had on their life beyond the dojo. His pride and dedication to his students and their development was a fatherly role he took on with joy and excitement. His pride also extended to being a dedicated member of the International Brotherhood Union, Local #3.
Following his retirement, he took on a few new endeavors. He proudly earned his Associate’s degree in his 60’s before acquiring a beautiful property in Puerto Rico. He spent many of his last days taking in the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, while overseeing the property.
Services to honor Richard's life include a visitation on December 21, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. Interment will be held on December 22, 2025, starting at 12:45 pm at St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Ave, New York, NY 11379.
Richard's memory will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
