I did not know my Aunt Anne.  Well, not in the traditional sense of knowing someone by living with them to understand their quirks, love for certain food, music or any host of things that usually defines a person.  I've learned mostly of my Aunt's life from my cousin by informing me of how Aunt Anne, with osteoporosis, would still, cook and clean (even with her son's help), have reading as a hobby, and gave to charities as a member of Hadassah.  This strength of heart tells me that even with pain, physical debilitating pain, Aunt Anne had an inner joy.   Inner joy, that sweet spot I sometimes feel as a tingly sensation, like an electrical current sent by God throughout my body, can only be recognized by belief.  A long life such as that lived by Aunt Anne can be had without belief.  But, because of belief, she had the strength to do things, even while in pain, making her life one of quality and quantity.  We can't live a human life without human conditions, but we can believe that we have purpose – that everything we do honors our spirit, touching others in ways we may never know.  I might not have known my Aunt, but she has touched me.

My sincere condolence for the loss of Aunt Anne.  A long life well lived is an inspiration to all.
