My husband and I are heartbroken, and send our sincere condolences to Dan’s family.
Dan was a passionate Jewish activist, and he loved Judaism, Israel and America. He was erudite, well-educated and well-read, and a brilliant, ferocious fighter for truth. I corresponded with or spoke with Dan almost every day during recent months. His stiletto-sharp analysis, insights and humor were extraordinary. He did not suffer fools gladly but also, at times, could be surprisingly and deeply sensitive and compassionate. I wish we had been able to spend time with him in person this year. We already miss him, and are so sad for his loved ones.
