David Magenheim- 1950-2024
David Magenheim was a devoted husband and loving father to his wife, Ellen, and two daughters, Stacy and Lisa.
David was born in Brooklyn in 1950 to Sam and Irene. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School and Pace University. David was a good son and loved both of his parents dearly. When David began working, he started his career by working in a men’s clothing store that his father owned. He enjoyed working with his dad and shared fond memories of their time together. From his mom, he developed a knack for cooking and has passed on some of his recipes to his children and grandchildren. His chicken soup is one of their favorites.
David also was a man who cared deeply about his children, Stacy and Lisa, who will dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted on them. David taught them that family came first and how important it was to show up for one another. Throughout their childhood he attended all their performances, helped with school projects, drove them and their friends to events and planned fun activities that will always hold a special place in their heart. Coney Island being on the top of that list.
David took great pride in being a grandparent to his grandchildren, Drew and Madelyn. Being that David spent the latter part of his life working as a plumber for the MTA he was ecstatic when Drew developed a love of trains. David would take Drew on train rides around the boroughs exploring all the different train lines and the locations they would go. It was a special time for both.
David enjoyed listening to music from Eric Clapton, Southside Johnny and Led Zeppelin to name a few. He was a Yankees fan and enjoyed discussing the games with family and friends. The Yankees will now have another angel of their shoulders as will we all.
A graveside service for David will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at King Solomon Memorial Park, 550 Dwasline Rd, Clifton, NJ 07012.
