Ethan Besterman

I am heartbroken to tell you that my beloved son Ethan died on Saturday, March 18th. He had been home recovering from pneumonia that had him in the hospital for several months. Ethan’s death was completely unexpected. He was 18 years old and still had his entire life ahead of him. It still does not seem real. Ethan was truly extraordinary. He repeatedly overcame the many obstacles that CHARGE Syndrome put in his path. He was full of life, mischief, and joy. Ethan had non-stop energy. And he was filled with extraordinary love for those close to him. Ethan especially adored his twin brother Jeremy and his grandmother Sondra. Ethan will be so very dearly missed. And I will miss my beautiful precious son beyond measure every minute of every day for the rest of my life.

We will have a service for Ethan on Wednesday, March 22nd at 9:30AM at Schwartz Brothers Chapel, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY followed by the burial at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Ln, Iselin, NJ, where he will be interred near my beloved father, Albert, and grandmother, Mollie, for whom he was named.
