Gerald Weitzen

Born in Brooklyn, New York, 1938

Beloved son of the late Samuel and Bertha Weitzen

He leaves behind his caring Sister Rosalyn

He Attended Lafayette high school, where he played on the football team, this was one of his many favorite times and it is where it sparked is later interest & accomplishment of coaching football.

At the Murray State University, is where he received his degree masters degree in teaching

After graduation he would be a teacher in the New York school system for over 35 years, primarily at the John Adams High School

Here was where he teached until retirement and then continued for many years later to be the head football coach at John Adams high school

He fondness for sports also lead him to be an exceptional player & lead to him becoming the head coach in tennis

Some hobbies he enjoyed was reading- especially mystery novels, and going to the casinos.

He enjoyed learning about history, and especially World War II

Nicest person you would ever meet and a truer friend you would ever know.

A graveside service for Gerald will be held Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704.
