

Harriett grew up in Coney Island with her parents, Willie and Bella (Sklar) Zarfes, and her sister Beverly. She lived in Brooklyn, in Old Bridge, NJ, and finally in Flushing, Queens. Her beloved husband Alfred Feld preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Leslie (grandson Paul and wife Vicky), son Jay (wife Maryann), and sister Beverly (husband George, niece Sari and great-nephew Eli, and nephew David and wife Danielle). She was President of her graduating class at Mark Twain Junior High School, class of 1948. She was a loving partner to Alfred, a wonderful mother to Leslie and Jay (and mother-in-law to Maryann), and a devoted daughter, sister, grandmother, daughter-in-law, aunt, and cousin. She had many close friendships, and was loved by everyone who knew her. She was an efficient and industrious homemaker, and a gracious and accommodating hostess. She was highly literate, highly cultured, and very well informed. She served as President of the FDR Welfare League. She faithfully served in her synagogue, Congregation Beth Ohr of Old Bridge, NJ, in various capacities. She had a long career as a highly valued employee and office manager with Nifty Products of Old Bridge, NJ. She was a fierce advocate for justice and equality. A funeral service will be held at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, located at 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375, United States. The service is scheduled for September 28, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm.
Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place at New Montefiore Cemetery, located at 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704, United States. This service is scheduled for September 28, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
