KLEIN – Jerahmiel, 76 years old. The Klein family deeply mourns the passing of Jerry, “Milik” Klein, son of Fritz and Paula. Born, January 24, 1938 in Herzliya, Israel, he emigrated to New York when he was 24 and attended New York University’s Stern School of Business where he received his BS in 1966 from the School of Commerce and MBA in 1968. After a long and distinguished career in finance working for both Manufacturers Hanover Trust and as a money manager for Neuberger Berman, he retired from his career in 2000. He loved the arts – frequenting museums and the opera -- and travel, visiting all seven continents over the course of his life. He was a loving husband to his first wife Barbara Cockrell Klein and deeply devoted to his second wife and best friend Maria Castano Klein. He was a loyal brother to Joseph, proud and beaming father to Emily, dedicated and loving uncle to Mihal and Ruthy Klein, David and Carl New, Allyson Machon, Jason and Joel Cockrell, Yvonne Phelps, Natasha McLaurin Trent, Nicole and Megan McLaurin. He was a wonderful father-in-law to Tom Sugiura and adoring of his grandson, Samuel Theodore Sugiura. He was the greatest of friends; loyal, caring, honest, and joyous. He will be greatly missed.
