July 9, 1944 – February 26, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Olga Ramos Reccy, who left this world on February 26, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Puerto Rico on July 9, 1944, Olga built a beautiful life in Astoria, Queens, where she lived for 47 years, filling her home with love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
Olga was a devoted wife to her late husband, Rafael Reccy, cherishing their time together and carrying his love in her heart every day. She was the proud and loving mother of Candice Ramirez, Michael Anthony Reccy, and Michele Viera, and the adoring grandmother of Tyler Ramirez, Bianca Viera, and Samantha Reccy. She was also a beloved sister to Lourdes Gonzalez and Norma D’Bella, and a pillar of love and support to all who knew her.
For 42 years, Olga dedicated herself to her work at the Hotel Trades Council’s Manhattan headquarters for the Local 6 union, where she was admired for her work ethic, dedication, and kindness. Her career was not just a job—it was a place where she made lifelong friendships and helped support the hardworking individuals in the hospitality industry.
Olga had a warm, nurturing spirit and a passion for the simple joys in life. She was an avid Danielle Steel fan, always lost in a captivating story, and she found adventure in traveling, exploring new places, and making cherished memories along the way. More than anything, she found her greatest joy in being with family. Whether sharing a meal, offering words of wisdom, or simply being present, she made every moment special.
She was also deeply devoted to the care of her beloved parents, Luis and Auria Roman, ensuring they were surrounded by love and comfort. Her selflessness and devotion to family were at the core of who she was.
A funeral service to celebrate Olga’s incredible life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Forest Park Funeral Home in Queens. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory, share stories, and find comfort in the love she left behind.
Olga’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever guide and inspire
