Samuel Saul Koeppel

Samuel Saul Koeppel passed away on March 4, 2026 at the age of 96. He was the beloved and constant husband of Erika, devoted and exemplary father of David and Susan, and adoring and exuberant grandfather of Paige, Harrison, and Cecilia. Words fail to describe how deeply he touched the lives of all those who knew him. A natural born teacher, he had a passion for his work in the aerospace field that was only matched by his desire for sharing the knowledge he gained from it with others — adults and children alike. He was a man of boundless curiosity and talent, whose gifts as a problem-solver, an innovator, and an entrepreneur defined him as much as his love for family and career. His wonderful life was also graced with an infectious enthusiasm for sports, movies, classical music, theater, art, and exploration of the natural world.

A Committal Service for immediate family will be held at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 78-00 Myrtle Ave, New York, NY 11385, US, on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. A celebration of Sam's life will take place from 10:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the Bristal Assisted Living Community, 99 S. Service Rd., New Hyde Park, NY 11040.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Samuel’s honor can be made to

the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, New York, where he faithfully volunteered for many years.
