Stephen Eliot Brodsky passed away on March 22, 2026 at the age of 72, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and creativity that touched all who knew him. He was born on June 21, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, to Harold and Rosalyn Brodsky.
Stephen was the beloved husband of Mary, the cherished father of Katherine, and treasured father-in-law of Alessandro. He was a brother to Ellen, a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, an adored brother-in-law, and a doting dog-grandfather to Tildy (Matilda). To his family and friends, Stephen was truly an absolute delight—warm, generous, and deeply kind.
A distinguished professional, Stephen served for decades as the dedicated General Counsel for Pace University, where he was respected for his integrity, wisdom, and commitment. Beyond his career, he lived a richly creative life as an advocate, friend, photographer, guitar player, singer-songwriter, and storyteller. His passions and talents brought joy and inspiration to many, and his presence will be profoundly missed.
A memorial service to celebrate Stephen’s life will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 1:00 PM at Schwartz Brothers–Jeffer Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY.
