Dear Ronnie,  Michelle , Jessie, and Ettie, 

I am sitting here in Colorado in tears and in shock for the sadness of losing our dear Sydelle. I am heartbroken for you and hardly know how what or what to say.  It  was one of the most beautiful honorings  that I’ve ever heard.   The  rabbi , the cantor but most of all the presence of mind of you, dear sister, you dear daughter, Michelle, you dear son – son-in-law Jesse, how you were so composed, and wrote so beautifully sensitively with humor, sharing her strengths,  her toughness, her her tenacity, her humor, and most of all her incredible big heart and of course amazing intelligence, what humanity you shared of Sydelle and how you captured her..  It was also a beautiful quote from the Jewish philosopher or rabbi from 2300 years ago, which was profound and meaningful. How u pulled it altogether Ronnie!??  I ended up having trouble with Zoom but I heard it and listen to it originally and then four more times; it was profound know that you’re in my heart and in my thoughts and I send you all my love, Joan Lebach

Dear Ron and Michelle,
I am truly sorry to be writing this letter. Your news was totally unexpected, I do hope that Sydelles passing was not too much of a shock.
Your friendship Ron and memories of Sydelle remain a real part of our American experience . If you ever come our way please let me know.

After some 40 years, I will remember Adelle as an extraordinary mother , daughter wife and an ardent supporter of her family. She was capable of transposing those character assets into an adult career where she was an adept and talented social worker who  utilized a specific talent to meld  empathy, psychodynamic skills, and support as needed with patients who required it. 
Such talent will be treasured by many who were fortunate enough to encounter her. 
Dear family, please accept my condolences. I will miss our periodic telephone conferences that spanned her love for husband daughter, son in law to her love for working and joy of working with patients.

I know how central Sydelle Z”L  was in your lives and she also meant so much to us. Such that even after not seeing her for years, once we met it was as if we were always close by.

I'm in real shock. Sydelle was very special to me and in the last years we got more and more closer.
We both grew up in families of holocaust survivors and it effected our lives in many ways.
She carries the name of her grandmother Silke that was the sister of my father.
I send my condolences to her husband Ron and her beloved daughter Michelle.

Dear Ron, Michelle, Jesse, Ettie, and Family,
Sydelle was a dear friend and colleague for many years. We stayed close after retirement and across the miles. She would always share positive thoughts and sayings which made my day!
Sydelle was dedicated to her family and friends, and to the causes she believed in. She will be truly missed and always in my heart!
May fond memories of happy times spent together help you through your grief and may your be comforted among the mourners of Yerushalayim.

We remember Sydelle with such fondness.    The time we spent together with you all, more than 40 years ago, will never be forgotten.
Her warmth and hospitality, lovely laugh and thoughtfulness stay with us all these years later.   
We can still remember Sydelle sending Ron out early morning to buy us freshly baked bagels on his bicycle when we stayed with you.

Horrible!!!! Just found out dear Ronnie, Michelle and Jessie!!!! At a loss for words and in shock…  I hope Sydelle’s big heart comfort u in the incredible love she had for u, her family, friends and the love, support and humanity  she shared and gave to her clients and all her knew her!!!
My parents would tell the story how they  all three feel in love with each other the first time they met!!! Sydelle would continue to meet with my parents when she would bring Michelle to nursery school at Temple Emmanuel down the street in Great  Neck. It was a mutual love affair!!!
My father would wisely quote the poet and German philosopher, Goethe: “ Joy shared is joy doubled. Sorrow shared is sorrow halved.” 
Sydelle’s life, good works and memory is a blessing…

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Sydelle for several years at LIJ. She was an incredibly dedicated social worker who was a strong advocate for her patients. She was also a kind, caring, and considerate colleague who had a wonderful sense of humor. Deepest condolences on your loss.

My dear Ron and Michelle, i was truly shocked to just read your email. i do not know whether Sydelle had been ill.  I send you all my most sincere condolences.  Although because of the distances between us, we did not spend much time together,  I always liked her enormously and enjoyed her company when we met and felt a bond between us.
