

Jack W. Calhoun, Sr., age 77 of Rex, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011. He served 9 years in the United States Army and is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #6330. Mr. Calhoun’s civilian career spanned 34 years with the Fulton County Board of Education. He loved his grandchildren and spending time fishing and making birdhouses. Mr. Calhoun leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Josephine Calhoun and sons, Jack W. (Donna) Calhoun, Jr., James (Marilyn) Calhoun and Robert Calhoun; daughters, Dawn (Brad) Ewing, Deborah (Tom) Damron, Marge Skinner and Kim (Erick) Stonecash; 21 grandchildren, Megan, John, Jack III, Ami, Melissa, Rachell, Mike, Tom, Rodney, Patti, Jeremy, Jessica, Juston, Terry, Tabitha, Taylor, Timothy, Rosemary, Josh, Kaitlyn and Samantha; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sherry (David) Allen; brother-in-law, Willard (Felicia) Holland; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, March 14, 2011 at Morrow Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dewitt Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. Family will receive friends from 12 to 6 pm, Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the funeral home. Jack Calhoun was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who had the honor of knowing him. We will cherish the memories he took time to make.
