Anne was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and attended Normal School, which was in past years, a teacher’s training school. She taught in small schools around Manitoba for several years before she met and married Julius “Jules” Eustace. They moved to Fort Frances, but shortly thereafter she followed Jules to Montreal where he took his training before serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Upon their return to Fort Frances after WWII, Anne taught on an occasional basis until she became busy raising her family, while her husband succeeded Arthur George Murray in the practice of law.
Anne served for two terms on the Fort Frances Town Council. Anne also served on the Women’s Advisory Council for the Province of Ontario and received an award from the Government in recognition of her dedicated service. She was employed at Canada Manpower for many years.
Anne stayed active in the community, and was a long term member of the Knox United Church Women’s group and the Order of the Eastern Star. She became involved in the S.O.S (Save our Station) that saved the old CN Depot from demolition and helped turn it into an active, vital part of the local community.
Anne loved to read, and kept up on local, provincial and national news through all the newspapers and magazines she went through every day. She enjoyed many travels with her sister “Len” Helen, and celebrated her 90th birthday with her family in Hawaii, her favourite place which she visited often.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Jules in 1967, parents Anastasia and Steven Kapac, brothers Alec and Jack, and daughters Valerie and Debbie. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Lawrence of Fort Frances and George of Ottawa, granddaughters Larianne and Annie Gyn, and their mother, Analie, all of Ottawa, and her sister Helen of Calgary. She also leaves to mourn nieces and nephews, Gary (Janet) in Toronto, Jack in Windsor, Bob (Barb), Jane, and Tom (Maryanne) all in Winnipeg, Evan (Penny) and Rhea in Calgary, and their families.
