Armaline was born on August 30, 1940 in Couchiching First Nation to the late Frederick and Clara Mainville. She was raised in Couchiching, attending residential school as a young girl. As a young woman she traveled, settling in New York where she worked for a short time. Although Mackie did not like to talk about it, she suffered severely from arthritis, this limited her ability to work and she returned to Couchiching First Nation to be near her family. She never allowed her disability to slow her down, she was always out and about in the community, visiting family and friends. Mackie also enjoyed Bingo and playing cards with her friends at the Seniors Club. She was a true caregiver always helping in anyway; she was a proud supporter of many church organizations as well as numerous animal shelters. Mackie was a woman of great faith. She also enjoyed being outdoors. She loved watching and feeding the animals. Some of her closest companions were her kitties, Sam, DoDo and Aggie. In the last year as her body failed her she became to rely on others, she was eternally grateful to Dr. Nugent, the nurses at LaVerendrye Hospital as well at Pat Singleton for their help and support.
She leaves behind her stepson Troy Marschalk (Carla) and his sons Jesse and Jackson; brothers and sisters Elmer (Bessie) Mainville of Couchiching First Nation, Madeline Tucker of Fort Frances, Eugene Douglas Mainville (Bonnie) of Palmyra, New York and Sandra Mainville of Duluth, MN; numerous nieces and nephews with their families and her kittie Sam.
Mackie was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Clara; partner Lyn Marschalk; sister Dolly Roach; brother Wally Mainville, numerous nieces and nephews and her kitties DoDo and Aggie.
