so shocked to hear this sad news.  I worked with Barb at the hospital.  Everyone loved her.  She never had an unkind word about anyone.  I saw her only rarely these last few years but she always had a ready smile and some funny memory to share.  So sorry for your loss.

In 1984 I travelled to Lac la Croix first nations community by floatplane from Fort Frances for a one day medical clinic with a nurse named Barb Ross. There was no road into the village then. We were not prepared when the weather changed and we were stranded there for a number of days with only the clothes on our backs. I remember Barb was amazingly cheerful and we made the best of what could have been a difficult time. If this is the same Barb Ross then I am very sorry for your loss - she seemed a wonderful person over the brief time I knew her.

Our sincerest condolences to Heide, Terry, Gill, Nancy, and Doug.  We are truly sorry for your loss.  With many miles that separate us we were not able to attend, but you all were in our thoughts and always have been.  With love, Muriel, Keith, Jennifer, Alexis, Robert and Brent Ross.

As kids, we loved it when Auntie Barb would come to visit. She was so much fun! She always had a smile on her face and would play with us for hours on end. She would bring us special toys, like miniature guitars and karaoke machine that had a tape with the music of Vanilla Ice's "Ice, Ice, Baby." I still know all the lyrics today and am pretty proud of that fact haha. When we visited her, we loved playing in the lake and couldn't believe that she got to go swimming everyday if she wanted to. She made me feel special and thought the impressions I did of my dad were hilarious. I guess I once told her that my dad would always say "eat your beans squirt" and that I had a plan to grow bigger than my dad and then go to his house and tell him " now you eat your beans squirt!" She loved telling me that story and used to egg me on for more, telling me I could be a little actress. I was a pretty dramatic child haha so she wasn't far off! My last visit with her was at my wedding. It was incredibly special to have her there and to be able to spend some time with her leading up to the big day. I was pretty nervous about being the centre of attention all day but having family there made the whole experience very special. She made me the most beautiful quilt for my wedding and I will treasure it forever. I miss her very much but feel so lucky to have had such a wonderful auntie in my life.

Although we weren't able to see you yesterday we were certainly thinking of the family.

Barb could light up a room by just walking in with her sweet smile and infectious laughter!  To know her was to love her.  She made this world a better place and she leaves a hole that can never be filled.  The way she loved Daniel and Paul was a gift to both the boys and me.

It was sad for me to hear of Barb's passing. I have fond memories of her when we lived in Germany. My condolences to all of the family.

So very sorry to hear of you Mom's passing.  Barb and I went to high school together in 4 Wing Germany and I have fond memories of that time.

The entire Class of '67 McKellar Hospital School of Nursing mourns with you.  Barbara's smile lit up our reunions and her friendship made us all better people.  Barbara was cherished by each and every one of us.  She will be missed.

Heide, Terry and family, I am so saddened by your loss.  She was a wonderful friend to me and to everyone she met.  Her smile always lit up the room.  Words can't express how much she will be missed. Wish I could be there to say goodbye in person, but we said our goodbyes in May when I visited with her.  My love to you all at this very sad time.

I am so sorry for your loss.  It was truly a pleasure to get to know Barb.  I have so many good memories from quilt camp and our guild meetings.  She was a true friend to all she met.
